Re-proposing the spirit of the New Deal in a green key to ensure a sustainable restart of the European economy.
The meeting was introduced by the report of Deopen CEO, Alessandro Paglia, in the presence of the Italian Minister for European Affairs, Enzo Amendola.
Other participants was the ENEL Italia Director, Carlo Tamburi; the former Italian Minister of Justice and Environment, Andrea Orlando; the Deputies Davide Crippa and Rossella Muroni; the MEP Nicola Procaccini.
Among many topics on the agenda, the central node of the discussion concerned the next steps to foster the sustainable conversion of the European economy.
As stated by CEO Alessandro Paglia: “within the public debate, some positions emerges to push for a downward revision of the Green Deal objectives, leveraging on the fear that environmental constraints could throttle the recovery process. A clear and massive position must be taken on this point. Just as in the 29’ the New Deal was an opportunity to reborn from an imposing economic and social crisis, today the Green Deal takes on even more meaning, considering the ongoing emergency. “
